Before attending your appointment
you can come for a face to face consultation or alternatively I can send your patch tests out in the post. you will need to request this and provide your address.
Remember
you need to allow healing time between other aesthetic treatments and facials. I usually recommend 2-3 weeks between any Botox\filler and a PMU treatment. With skin peels this time may be longer.
Important information for the 24 hrs prior to your treatment
- Avoid excessive caffeine intake on the day of your treatment this includes energy drinks
- Avoid drinking alcohol both the day before and the day of your treatment
- Avoid any sun exposure and sun beds I will not be able to perform treatments on sun burn or flaking skin
- Avoid smoking or vaping heavily before your appointment
- You should have discontinued any chemical exfoliants and use of retinols for in your at home skin care for at least 4 weeks
When
you get to your appointment we will double check through your medical form and paper work.
This is
our opportunity to take some before photos (this is required by my insurance but they don’t need to be used for social media. please tell me at your appointment if you don’t want your photos used online)
I will then
map and assess your bone structure and predraw a design. You can change you mind regarding style and techniques at any time during the predraw process so if you book for hairstrokes and decide at your appointment you would prefer powder that’s not a problem. I encourage my clients to get up and look in the mirror and see their face moving so we can make sure the design is absolutely perfect. Please do be fussy ! If you’re going to change anything the time is now.
After the shape
has been decided for brows I will select the correct colour for your hair and skin tone. For lips and eyeliner we will have already discussed your desired colour and effect.
Once you’re 100% happy
and not before, I will numb the area and begin the tattooing process. I ask that you do not use your phone during the treatment however you can stop and use the toilet or sit up for a drink. You will be required to lie totally flat.
The tattooing process
typically takes around 60 min for powder brow looks and 100mins for realistic hairstrokes or lip and eyeliner tattooing.
Immediately after the procedure
the area will be cleaned, I will gather some after photos and run through the full aftercare at home procedure. It is normal for your fresh permanent makeup to look very bold immediately after the procedure remember this will not be the HEALED result you must trust the process. Before you leave we will also schedule your free 6-8 week topup appointment. You will receive an email with the time and date, Please make sure you make note of this and read our cancellation policy.
After the procedure
you may have some mild soreness brows typically calm down very quickly with minimal swelling. Eyeliner and lip tattoos may swell for 24-48 hrs.
